About the event
This course is designed to provide multidisciplinary team members with the signs and indicators of possible trafficking victims in the course of their everyday duties and how to conduct a human trafficking investigation. Day 1 is Human Trafficking Interdiction, Day 2 is Proactive Trafficking Operations, and Day 3 is Illicit Massage Business Investigations.
Students will learn:
• How to recognize the indicators of a possible trafficking incident
• How to ascertain if a party is a victim of trafficking and best practices for interactions
• The signs of trauma bonding and PTSD
• How use a victim centered approach, specifically the Special Victims Methodology(TM)
• How to identify electronic evidence of trafficking on cell phones
• How to transition from a routine call or interview to a human trafficking investigation
• What the various multi-disciplinary groups are and how to use them
• Understand where victims come from and how they are groomed
