This course is designed to provide police officers with the skills to fully investigate a human trafficking incident, gather evidence and develop a prosecutable case. Attendees will learn:
- How to recognize the indicators of a possible human trafficking incident
- How to ascertain if a party is a victim of human trafficking and best practices for interactions
- The signs of trauma bonding and PTSD
- How use a victim centered approach (Special Victims Methodology)
- Recognize the different types of respones for a trafficking incident
- Gathering evidence from a vehicle, person, hotels, casinos, and other sources
- Conducting a suspect interview in a trafficking case
- Understand how to gather electronic evidence in a trafficking case
