This course is designed to provide police officers with the skills to fully investigate a human trafficking incident, gather evidence and develop a prosecutable case.  Attendees will learn:

  • How to recognize the indicators of a possible human trafficking incident
  • How to ascertain if a party is a victim of human trafficking and best practices for interactions
  • The signs of trauma bonding and PTSD
  • How use a victim centered approach (Special Victims Methodology)
  • Recognize the different types of respones for a trafficking incident
  • Gathering evidence from a vehicle, person, hotels, casinos, and other sources
  • Conducting a suspect interview in a trafficking case
  • Understand how to gather electronic evidence in a trafficking case
