BE THE ONE
Because it just takes one person to change the life of a human trafficking victim
Each year, HTTC recognizes one outstanding law enforcement professional or agency, and one civilian, who has made a difference in the ant-human trafficking world. This page is dedicated to those outstanding people.

2026 - Law Enforcement
New Jersey State Police Human Trafficking Unit
Three years ago, a New Jersey State Police Human Trafficking Unit did not exist. Today, comprised of 13 detectives, 2 intelligence analysts and 1 unit head, they are known as one of the best units in the country, regularly conducting investigations across the state, assisting local agencies, helping trafficking victims and routing them to services, and participating in HTTC's Operation Coast to Coast. On September 10, 2026, the NJSP hosted the latest Operation Coast to Coast at their Regional Intelligence Operations Center in Trenton, NJ, involving over 200 agencies across the nation and resulting in 125 arrests and 79 probable victims offered services.
In the past year, this unit conducted the first ever human trafficking wire tap in New Jersey. This resource-intensive investigation resulted in the arrest of 15 persons involved in trafficking individuals across New Jersey, 9 of which were charged with first degree trafficking.
During the FIFA World Cup, the NJSP Human Trafficking Unit also conducted 31 proactive operations, targeting sex buyers and traffickers, and identifying victims and contacting them to get them needed services.
Congratulations to the NJSP Human Trafficking Unit for an amazing year of service and for helping New Jersey and our country be a better place.
