About the event
This is a special Interdiction class for Legislators, and staff from MO DOC, P&P, DESE, DSS, DOR and MODOT. All ACTIVE law enforcement, nurses, doctors, CPS, prosecutors and HT victim advocates who work at a human trafficking advocacy center are, as usual, also invited. Please use your proper government / work email when registering.

This course equips police officers with the skills necessary to detect indicators of human trafficking victims in the course of their every day duties, and how to conduct successful human trafficking investigations. Among other details, you will learn:
How to recognize the indicators of a possible human trafficking incident
How to ascertain if a party is a victim of human trafficking and best practices for interactions
The signs of trauma bonding and PTSD
How use a victim centered approach (Special Victims Methodology(TM))
How to identify possible electronic evidence of trafficking on cell phones
How to transition from a routine call or interview to a human trafficking investigation
How to interview victims for successful disclosure and casesa possible suspect in a human trafficking case
What the various multi-disciplinary groups are, how to use them and how to work with victim advocates
Understand where victims come from and how they are groomed
