Illicit Massage Business Investigations

This course is designed to provide police officers with the skills needed to identify, investigate and dismantle illicit massage businesses. Historically, law enforcement has not been successful in these endeavors. This class will teach the Four Corner Strategy which has proven successful and will provide the tools needed to stop these criminal organizations.  Students will learn:

• How to recognize the indicators of a possible human trafficking incident

• How to determine if a business is illicit

• The IMB business model

• What federal and state charges are applicable

• How to identity the evidence in these cases

• How to implement the Four Corner Strategy

• How to locate and seize assets associated with these illicit businesses

• What the various multi-disciplinary groups are, how to use them and how to work with victim advocates

• Understand where these specific victims come from and how they are groomed
